Unboxing The Nikon Z6ii

So I recently took the plunge and made the move to upgrade my photography gear from DSLR to the Nikon mirrorless system! My first purchase is the Nikon Z6ii kit with the FTZ lens adapter and the 24-70mm f4 lens. This is fast becoming the ‘go-to’ camera for professionals to upgrade to so I thought I would make a quick video of me unboxing the Nikon Z6ii and my first impressions of it.

I’ve only taken a few photos with it so far, but I’m already in love with it and can’t wait to get out there and start shooting with it properly. The firmware update has massively improved the autofocus and the eye tracking is a fantastic feature especially for portrait and wedding photography. It even has animal eye detection too which is interesting! Now it has two card slots I can confidently use it as a main camera body when photographing a wedding too which is a relief. For now I will still be using my Nikon D600 as my second body but I can’t wait to eventually upgrade all my cameras and lenses to the new mirrorless system.

Here are the few photos I took as soon as I got it out the box, edited with my ‘film effect’ preset. I need to upgrade my iOS in order to be able to process the RAW files as they are too new for my current Mac setup, but the JPEGs are such great quality I can’t complain so far! Watch this space for my full review of the Nikon Z6ii which will be coming soon!
